About us
There's a particular kind of person who picks up a stone on the side of the road and can't just keep walking.
They turn it over in their hands. They check the luster. They scratch it against something harder. Maybe they're already thinking about the exact science of it like where it formed, how deep, under what pressure, and how many millions of years it took to get from the earth's crust to the palm of their hand on an ordinary Tuesday.
Or maybe they don't even know the name of it yet. They just know it's a damn cool rock, so they slip it into their pocket to add to the growing collection on their desk, their windowsill, or their nightstand.
If you know that feeling, ISOMORPH was made for you.
We're a couple who both work in the earth sciences. Between the two of us we've spent more hours in the field than we can count! reading outcrops, logging core, identifying hand specimens by instinct. Geology isn't what we do. It's genuinely how we see the world. Every road cut is a cross-section. Every cliff face is a timeline. Every crystal is a record of conditions that no longer exist anywhere on earth.
What bothered us — for years, quietly — was that nothing in our wardrobes reflected any of that. The apparel that did exist was either painfully generic, or worse, inaccurate. Cartoon crystals with wrong formulas. "Geology rocks" printed in Comic Sans. Merchandise that treated one of the most rigorous sciences on earth like a novelty.
So we made our own.
ISOMORPH is a built on one principle: if the mineral's name is on the shirt, every other detail has to be right. The chemical formula. The Mohs hardness. The mineral group. The crystal habit. The luster. Verified against published mineralogy — not guessed, not approximated, not close enough.
Each design features a hand-rendered watercolour illustration of the actual specimen — painted from real mineral reference.
We make one tee per mineral. We go deep on each one. We're not trying to cover everything at once — we're building a catalog the way a serious collector builds a collection. Carefully. One specimen at a time.
ISOMORPH is for the geologist on the drill site who still gets excited about a fresh core sample. For the student who chose petrology because it made everything else make sense. For the collector who has more specimens than shelf space. For the partner of someone in the field who finally understands why rocks matter. For anyone who has ever looked at the ground and seen something most people walk straight past.
You already know what's beneath the surface.
This is just what you wear while you're looking.
